I’m dedicating this post to sharing a fun fact about Audrey, Bohemian’s iconic Mercedita. It might seem trivial, but it holds special meaning for me. The thing is, our favorite shoe will always be linked to Rome, the Eternal City… And it’s the place where you’ll find me if I ever decide to “get lost.” Bohemian’s most iconic classic is linked to this wonderful place because the first photos of the Audrey prototype were taken right there. It was in early September 2018, during a visit to my husband, who was working there for six months. It is in that city—which changes the lives of those who visit it, which takes your breath away at every turn—that I knew the first Bohemian Mercedita would mark a turning point and define us as a brand.
I took several photos… In Piazza Cavour, on the banks of the Tiber near Castel Sant’Angelo, in Piazza Navona, and on the Spanish Steps. The images illustrating this post were taken on the Spanish Steps, a place of immense symbolic significance. These are my favorite photos. Because I’m a huge fan of that spot, which I’ve had the chance to enjoy all to myself on more than one occasion… It’s also the place where some of the most famous shots from the classic “Roman Holiday” starring the incomparable Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn.
