THE IMPORTANCE OF CARING FOR FOOTWEAR

"Affection has to be a habit ".

- Letitia Elizabeth Landon -

A pair of quality shoes, well chosen and maintained, adds that extra something to our look that can make it perfect. On the contrary, a bad pair of shoes is enough on its own to spoil the most spectacular of outfits.

This has to do with human nature itself... Because our mind is structured in such a way that attention to detail, which we don't always take care of, has an unconscious effect on the overall image we project. As part of these "details", shoes play a fundamental role in the wardrobe... Reason enough to take care of them and give them the attention they deserve.

That's why I thought it appropriate to publish a post about the importance of taking care of your shoes. The reason for this is that we know all too well what I'm going to tell you here!

Here are four points to always keep in mind when the word "shoe" is on your mind.

1.- Wear poorly maintained shoes and it won't matter what you're wearing... because you'll have ruined it.

If your shoes are a mess, dirty or neglected, you can wear a 1500 euro suit, you won't care... No one will notice anything else but your shoes, and like them, you'll look like a mess too!

Wear quality shoes, clean and stylish, and you'll make an entrance through the eyes of whoever addresses you or simply crosses your path... And you know that there's no chance for second impressions...

2.- Well-maintained shoes always equals long-lasting shoes.

You will have already read in some of the previous entries of this blog, that leather is a natural material that requires hydration to keep its properties intact over time. Nourish it and it will last for many years maintaining the charm and beauty of the first day.

3.- Taking care of your shoes is saving money

It is true that top quality shoes are somewhat more expensive, due to the raw materials and techniques used in their manufacture. However, if they are well cared for, they will last for many years, after which you will discover that they are really cheap.

4.- The care of the shoe will make it unique and personal.

By means of moisturising, waxing and periodic brushing, the leather takes on a new texture and colour, which will make each pair unique and different from the rest. texture and colour that will make each pair unique and different from the rest. This is what the great craftsmen call the "patina". Nothing special is needed to develop it. All you need to do is to take care of your shoes regularly year after year.

So much for today's post, which I hope has convinced you of the need to pay attention to that "detail" of your wardrobe that is your shoes. You can see that, as with everything in life, affection also works miracles with them... Don't forget to give them a little something every now and then.
