THE ONLY IMPORTANT THING IS PEOPLE
"Nothing is more important than empathy for other human beings who are suffering"
- Audrey Hepburn -
Those of you who know the philosophy of Bohemian philosophy, you will have read and heard dozens of times that "the most important thing is people".. In these difficult times, when we feel vulnerable, this phrase takes on special relevance. And this blog entry by Bohemian is not about shoes, but about hope, optimism, strength and solidarity.
And also of gratitude... Gratitude to those who, with their empathy, professionalism and exemplary conduct, are saving lives in difficult conditions... Health and hospital staff, Police, Civil Guard, Armed Forces... Professions that we do not value in their just measure from our comfortable day-to-day "poltrona", and that at times like this show us how "ungrateful", "selfish" and "ignorant" (if you will allow me to use these terms) we are. May these words serve to show them the greatest of my respect and deepest appreciation.
And then comes the part of hope... Now those hugs I "spared myself", the kisses I refused, those smiles I stopped giving, the drinks with friends I said "no" to, the looks I chose to avoid... And I promise myself that nothing will be the same after this... That in the end it will all have served to make us better. Because yes... I am sure that we will come out of it renewed and strengthened. And we will do it as we do everything... With responsibility, with commitment, with empathy, with fortitude, with affection and with a smile on our lips. Yes... I am convinced that the only important thing is the people, then the people, and then the people too. Because that's who we are... And nothing changes that.
Cheer up... it's a little bit less now.
