IDEAS FOR COMBINING OUR MARY JANE

"Style is a simple way of saying complicated things".

- Jean Cocteau -

What better way to return to the Bohemian Blog than to give you some ideas for combining our little Mary Jane. It is well known how fond I am of our Audrey ballerina. There are many reasons... The first one is that it is very Bohemian, and it has allowed us to reach you and enter fully into the world of footwear, a few months after the creation of the brand... And because it mixes Italian influence, tradition and modernity.

Audrey is our favourite dancer. She is the result of a beautiful love story that was born sitting on a staircase, that of the Trinità dei Monti, which counts and will always count among my two or three favourite places on this planet. Trinità dei Monti in Romewhich counts and will always count among my two or three favourite places on this planet.

That's why, when summer has fully entered our lives and we are all thinking about those well-deserved holidays, I have decided to dedicate this post to offer you some ideas, always from a modest point of view, to combine my favourite ballerina.

As you know, Bohemian has brought out Audrey in six colours. Some of them, namely Oxford blue and bougainvillea, are typically summery. The sky blue, silver, nude pink and red models can be worn all year round. In any case, I have tried to design this ballerina so that it can be combined with a wide range of colours and fabrics.

The nude pink of the Bohemian ballerina is completely different, and I even dare to call it "atypical"... I chose the tone specifically to make it look like tanned skin. It is a timeless and versatile colour that you can wear in any season of the year, especially in spring and autumn. It's also chic for summer nights in northern Spain and Europe, when temperatures are milder.

As for the fabrics you can combine it with, it can be combined with almost anything... Summer fabrics such as linen, crepe, silks... And winter fabrics such as cottons, flannels and wools. Audrey nude is timeless and adaptable.

As for the colours, it combines perfectly with prints, colourful or neutral tones.

Wear this ballerina with skirts, midi dresses, paluzzo trousers, jumpsuits... and be ready to be asked for them.

Ideas for combining our little Mary Jane, this time in its metallic colour. We've christened it "silver" to call it something like that. Because, just like with the nude pink, the tone of this ballerina is not usual. It's more of a metallic colour, a mix of gold and silver, or aged copper. Like the previous one, it's a timeless colour that you can wear at any time of the year.

As for the fabrics with which to combine Audrey silver, this ballerina has the particularity of "mimicking" them, and accepts both winter and spring. It goes wonderfully with black, browns, fuchsia and nude. You can pair this shoe with silks, crepes and chiffons to create the perfect guest look, or something more casual with jeans.

What about red Audrey?

"When in doubt, wear red", said Bill Blass, who knew a thing or two about style. And seeing Audrey in this colour doesn't surprise us at all. The one at Bohemian is a scarlet red that seems to have a life of its own and oozes passion and strength. I can tell you that whoever opts for this colour exudes enthusiasm and confidence... it's amazing how footwear can reflect the personality of the wearer, and this Audrey model does it like few others.

This Bohemian shoe combines wonderfully with any fabric, and can be worn both in spring and autumn. We have already seen it paired with cotton, linen, wool... and the result is always spectacular.

As for the colours that suit her best, Audrey red goes very well with prints, grey houndstooth and different types of blue. Personally, I think the combination of red and olive green is the best.

Combine this ballerina with dresses, skirts and trousers in all their versions. Palazzo and skinny for a more refined and sophisticated style, and jeans for a more casual touch... And get ready for all eyes to go to your feet, because Audrey red is a magnet.

Ideas for combining our Audrey Mary Jane bougainvillea

More ideas for combining this little shoe. Audrey bougainvillea is a mix of fuchsia purple and pink. It is the quintessential spring colour, although if you wear it in summer, it has the "WOOOOW" built in. This ballerina conveys pure joy and optimism.

I like to combine it with "casual" fabrics like linen and also with other more refined fabrics like crepes or silks... As for colours, the bougainvillea colour of our ballerina is a love story with metallic, gold, silver, nude pink, grey, emerald green... The game that this shoe gives you is almost unlimited.

And what about the type of clothes I would wear them with? A safe bet for a perfect guest look.

Ideas for combining our Audrey Mary Jane Oxford blue. For when the sun shines

The colour of our most popular ballerina of the season is an intense blue, full of strength, sensitivity and character. It is perhaps the most daring of all the models that Bohemian has brought out, and we think it is simply spectacular. I can tell you that it is a shoe that catches the eye when it is worn.

Audrey Oxford blue is timeless, and goes particularly well, though not exclusively, with flannel, cotton and crepe. In terms of colours, I'm particularly struck by how well it goes with camel.

And what can I tell you about the type of clothes with which this shoe is best worn? I couldn't love the effect it has when paired with flannel coats or midi skirts that show off the shoe in all its glory... and of course, with jeans!

A dancer who takes you to a fairytale world. The turn of Light blue Audrey

You have told us all sorts of things about this dancer... but what has been repeated most often is the expression Ohhhhhhhhhhh!

Its colour is a cyan blue. Even though it evokes spring, and the chic time to wear them is this season and summer, you can wear them all year long, especially on those brighter days when the sun is shining.

In spring and these days I love to pair it with linens and silks, while next autumn I plan to make way for flannels, with which it looks chic.

As for the colours, neutral tones are great for this hot season. In autumn, browns, blacks and greys create a beautiful contrast with this shoe.

As for the type of garments, Bohemian bets on this colour for brides who prefer to say "I do" on a flat shoe (or better still, on a very comfortable 2-centimetre heel). And also for those who want to do it on heels and change their shoes after the ceremony, to celebrate the event in style and in total comfort.

And a preview of what's to come

So much for my ideas on how to combine our most popular Bohemian... But not before revealing for the first time that Audrey will come with changes for the next autumn-winter season, on which we have been working hard for several weeks now. And those changes, of course, will be for the better and will bring Bohemian to the standard of quality that we have set ourselves as a goal to achieve and maintain. These changes, which we will reveal in due course, and the launch of the models that will accompany Audrey in the AW 19-20 collection, will be another step forward in our enthusiasm to offer you footwear at the same level as the best brands, at a reasonable price.

Because, if we have been inspired by Italy for Audrey's design, we can say loud and clear that at Bohemian we are like the gladiators of Ancient Rome... generous in our efforts, daring, and ready to give everything for their audience, which is you (and you!).

See you next time! And in the meantime, have a great summer!
